The Houston Chronicle reports that the University of Houston's much-publicized choice of a commencement speaker -- Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey -- comes with a price tag:  $135,000.
The university, in response to a public records request from the Chronicle, disclosed that it is paying the actor that sum to speak at the school's first university-wide commencement in recent memory scheduled for May 15 at TDECU Stadium.  McConaughey intends to donate the money to charity. The actor's father once played college football at University of Houston.
